01 Dec IKEA Sustainability Update: People & Planet Positive

On October 23 IKEA Group announced a new sustainability strategy. Watch the YouTube video.

IKEA is focusing on three key areas:

1. Enabling people to live more sustainably with products and solutions that reduce energy, water and waste.
2. Striving for energy and resource independence – In particular IKEA Group has set a goal of producing the same amount of energy as its facilities consume.
3. Promoting healthier workplaces and communities.

Michael Ohlsson, President and CEO, IKEA Group, said, “One of the biggest challenges for the 21st Century is how to address resource scarcity and climate change whilst providing a great quality of life for people around the world."
