07 Oct Volunteers needed for Fish Fry October 17th

We’re seeking 33 volunteers to help with "1house at a time", [www.1houseatatime.org] a non profit which provides renewable energy retrofits to poverty stricken home owners.   The Colorado Energy Assistance Foundation says  “Inability to pay utilities is
second only to inability to pay rent as a reason for homelessness.”

By providing home utility retrofits and renewable energy systems at no cost to struggling homeowners, the 1house
at a time™ program not only reduces electricity and water consumed, and therefore money spent, but also improves quality of life. Volunteers provide the labor for the retrofits, while learning about energy efficiency and conservation.
We’ve retrofitted nine homes so far this year, with three more retrofits planned. Next year our goal is to double that. Volunteers for the Fish Fry and Auction on Oct 17th can be a part of making it happen.


Volunteers can contact me directly about signing up and there is a great variety of jobs to choose from, including food prep, runners, auction ‘spotters’, registration help and close out and clean up.  We will also need people in the days running up to the event for a few hours at a time.  Volunteers will get free entry to the auction and fish fry as well as food.
