EVENT COORDINATOR: this position would attend to the following tasks:

+ Organize and lead the Green Living Home Expo event – April 23rd-26th. Main tasks include working with marketing committee to create new tabling materials, work with artist to develop “fundraising tree” idea, organize logistics such as volunteers and transportation.
+ Begin early preparation for the Hello Birdie event (October). Main tasks include securing business sponsorships
+ Assist in creating monthly “point-of-entry” events for school program and donors
+ Develop & implement system for thanking volunteers and getting feedback
+ Advertise and contact volunteers about upcoming opportunities
+ Coordinate & remind volunteers of committee meetings

OPERATIONS ASSISTANT: this position would attend to the following tasks:

+ Assist with daily communications
+ Maintain basic bookkeeping and accounting
+ Prepare and submit invoices and receipts
+ Organize committee meetings (and occasionally, director’s meetings)
+ Maintain organizational calendar
+ Regularly backup internal documents
+ Regularly update master contact list
+ Follow-up and remind all team members of quarterly goals and commitments

FUNDRAISING & DEVELOPMENT: this position will attend to the following tasks:
+ Research and enroll organization in corporate giving programs
+ Improve online fundraising efforts
+ Research funding leads
+ Assist with fundraising events
+ Help edit and proof-read grants and other fundraising documents
+ Strategize fundraising ideas, especially in collaboration with designers
+ Develop sponsorship & donor materials

General Requirements for all Internship Positions:
+ Reliable and committed to the vision and mission of the organization
+ Ability to communicate and collaborate with a wide range of people and personalities
+ Ability to work independently & stay organized
+ Familiarity working with social networks, Word, Excel, etc.
+ Ideally, have a strong interest in nonprofit development, social entrepreneurship, emerging sustainable living practices
+ Graphic design skills a plus

Internship Details:

HOURS PER WEEK: 10-12 (or more depending on schedule)
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP: negotiable (preferably through May)
LOCATION: central Austin (you may work from home with regular check-ups)
START DATE: immediately
SALARY: unpaid

MISSION: UpLift Austin transforms public schools into sites of unexpected color, spirit and opportunity by educating youth in the fundamentals of sustainable design through the real-life renovation of their own schools.
