Rabbi Cohen-Kiener serves as Rabbi in Hartford, CT. — is director of the renowned Interreligious Eco-Justice Network (http://www.irejn.org/) — and has recently coauthored the book, "Claiming Earth As Common Ground: The Ecological Crisis Through The Lens of Faith" (http://tinyurl.com/yfvalxa) with Episcopal priest Sally Bingham (http://tinyurl.com/ygjge7f).

Rabbi Cohen-Kiener is an international leader in environmental care and education from a theological perspective. Her keynote remarks will bring to light the unique opportunities for faith communities to reinterpret and address today’s ecological challenges.

The evening will also include a time of fellowship, information about Austin’s IEN, and small group discussion on how we might serve together more effectively. Austin’s IEN provides interfaith opportunities for shared service, learning, and influence on public policy, across cultural lines in Austin. The group’s goal is to strengthen the faith community’s knowledge and effectiveness in caring for creation.

Nov. 5’s "launch" meeting is a first chance to learn more about the group, discover resources and partners for your faith community’s stewardship projects, and become involved in helping to build this new organization.
