Public can help define Chief Sustainability Officer profile

The City of Austin will initiate its nationwide search to fill the newly created position of Chief Sustainability Officer with a chance this week for the public to help define what type of person should fill the job.

There are two public meetings with City staff and search firm representatives 
1) TODAY, Thursday Feb 4, from 3-4:30  at City Hall, 3rd Floor, Room 3102
2) Friday, Feb. 5, from 4 to 5:30 p..m. in the Boards and Commissions Room at Austin City Hall.

The person chosen for the executive-level position will oversee and coordinate City conservation and sustainability efforts in various City departments. 
City initiatives range from green purchasing to solid waste recycling; water and electric conservation to green building. 

Affion Public, based in Harrisburg, Pa., is working with City Human Resources staff in finding candidates for this position.
