ImagineSolar Instructor Richard Stovall Awarded ISPQ Master Trainer Certification

One by one a community of dedicated educators is training a workforce in emerging solar energy technology. Last week on July 19th Richard Stovall, Director of Operations and Senior Instructor at Austin based, ImagineSolar was awarded Institute for Sustainable Power Quality ISPQ Certified Master Trainer. Stovall’s dedication to the advancement of the solar industry is balanced between his work at ImagineSolar and his service on the Texas Solar Energy Society Board of Directors.  Stovall along with Michael Kuhn, founder and CEO of ImagineSolar who became the 1st ISPQ Certified Master Trainer in the state of Texas in 2009 demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality standards in solar technology education.  With his ISPQ Master Trainer Certification Stovall brings to 4 the number of instructors and master trainers at ImagineSolar who have received certification from the Institute for Sustainable Power Quality, a division of the Interstate Renewable Energy Council IREC. In June Catherine Redson and James McElhanon were awarded ISPQ Instructor Certification.  This has been a busy summer for ImagineSolar!  Congratulations to Richard for once again raising the bar for solar educators in the state of Texas!

The IREC ISPQ accreditation and certification programs use international standards to provide an assurance of high-quality training across a broad range of energy efficiency and renewable energy training programs. IREC ISPQ credentials send a signal to students, potential employers and other industry stakeholders that a rigorous standard has been met.

"Being awarded ISPQ Master Trainer Certification fulfills a goal I set early on in my solar career, as this represents the highest level of recognition for educators in renewable energy,” said Richard after he was notified. He continued, “I have worked hard to gain the experience, education, training hours and industry involvement required for this, but what motivates me most is the achievement of the participants in my classes. Ultimately, my success is measured by the impact that I have on them to instill high standards for quality workmanship, integrity, and a commitment to join me in leading the solar industry in becoming a major component of the global energy mix."

Programs offered by ImagineSolar are catalyzing the rapid growth of the renewable energy industries in regions across the country through advocacy, advisory services for solar projects, and workforce training programs.  ImagineSolar offers online on-site and hands-on training.
