Waterloo Greenway
Who We Are:

Waterloo Greenway is a 1.5-mile park system with the power to bring the entire Austin community together. Once complete, the 35 acres of connected green space – meandering from 15th St. along downtown’s eastern edge to Lady Bird Lake – will be home to a wild array of natural and cultural destinations.

  • Springtime is approaching and we need your help to keep Waterloo Park beautiful and thriving! In these hands-on volunteer workshops, you’ll learn how to cut back herbaceous perennials, groundcovers, shrubs, and grasses throughout the park, all while meeting other plant-loving experts and community members.

    What to bring:

We kindly ask that you wear appropriate clothing and bring any of the following tools/equipment you may have at home!

    • Water Bottle
    • Gloves
    • Knee pads
    • Closed toe shoes
    • Hand pruners
    • Pruning Shears
    • Rake

A limited selection of these items will be available onsite. No power tools, please! If you have any questions, please contact Waterloo Greenway’s Horticulture Supervisor Adriane Horne at ahorne@waterloogreenway.org or Park Operations Coordinator Todd Ruff at truff@waterloogreenway.org

Space is limited. This opportunity is open to people of all ages—any children who participate must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants must be comfortable working outdoors, navigating uneven surfaces, standing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting.
