Juan and Myrna Meza, owners of Juan in a Million, are inviting east Austin restaurant and food-permitted business owners and managers to a free “Tacos & Training” breakfast featuring the Austin Resource Recovery department. This event is intended to help businesses learn about the Universal Recycling Ordinance (URO) requirements, as well as best practices.
Beginning Oct. 1, 2018 all food-permitted businesses will be affected by Austin’s URO which requires that businesses provide employees with on-site access to divert organic materials such as food scraps, expired foods, and food-soiled papers, from local landfills. More URO information is available at www.austintexas.gov/bizorganics.
Breakfast tacos and education resources will be provided courtesy of Austin Resource Recovery.
