Local Environmental Enforcement: How county, city, and local governments can protect clean air and water

Join us Monday, October 19 at 5 pm to learn more about the benefits of local environmental enforcements. The last year and a half has been a high profile year for air pollution and chemical disasters in Texas. Thankfully, local governments can play a central role in monitoring air quality, reducing pollution, and holding polluters accountable. We’ll talk about Texas’ pollution and chemical disaster problem, and how city, county, and local governments can protect clean air and water.

Speakers:

Dr. Latrice Babin, Director of Harris County Pollution Control Services
Dr. Joe Lyou, former Board Member at the South Coast Air Quality Management District
John Beard Jr., Chair of Port Arthur Community Action Network
Catherine Fraser, Clean Air Associate, Environment Texas (moderator)
