First Annual Let Texas Vote Day
November 3, 2020
Join us in celebrating the very first Let Texas Vote Day in Austin on November 3, 2020! This brand new holiday was established by your Austin City Council to encourage civic engagement, to honor the fight for voting rights in Texas and the U.S., and to make voting a fundamental part of what it means to be an Austinite.
Use this day to find creative ways to celebrate and build a tradition of voting and civic engagement with your friends and family. Council Member Natasha Harper-Madison and I will be celebrating by sharing a story we wrote and illustrated by my mom, to help kids understand why voting is important. Check back soon for a video and PDF coloring book you can share with your kids!
Don’t forget, the most important way to celebrate Let Texas Vote Day is to VOTE! Early voting in this November’s election goes through October 30, and election day is on Let Texas Vote Day, November 3. For information about deadlines, where to go, what to bring, what’s on your ballot, and more, visit https://govotetexas.org/.
