Ecological Society of America is Rockin’ with Austin Night for Nature, ACL – Live Concert to Benefit Austin Environmental Groups

 

Live on Shades of Green Energy we’ll interview Zoe Cardon from the Ecosystems Center, Woods Hole and member of Ecological Society of America (ESA) as they convene in Austin for their 96th annual conference. – these folks have been around for a long time!  Zoe will talk with us about what the ESA does, why ESA is bringing their annual conference to Austin, what this benefit concert is all about and more! 

So there are 2 things you may want to know about:

1. The ESA Opening Plenary panel will discuss the growing need for food, freshwater, energy and

many other resources drawn from Earth’s life support systems … essentially Stewardship of this Earth.  The event is Sunday, August 7th at the Austin Convention Center from 5 – 6:30 p.m. and it is open to the public … so you may want to reserve your Sunday evening for some nationally informative insight.

2.  Then next Thursday, ESA is hosting “Austin Night for Nature,” a live concert to benefit local environmental groups in Austin!  It’s a party for us folks … and they’ll be giving our environmental groups the proceeds!  And just look at the line up here!  Music will be performed by local musicians Terri Hendrix, Carolyn Wonderland and Alejandro Escovedo and the Sensitive Boys on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Moody Theater on West Willie Nelson Blvd. The concert starts at 8:00 p.m., doors open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets benefit such local groups as the American Youthworks Environmental Corps, Austin Parks Foundation, Bat Conservation International and the City of Austin, many of your friends and more!

So tune in on this Thursday to hear details about the ESA Sunday Plenary and next Thursday’s Austin Night for Nature Concert that’s on Shades of Green Energy on KOOP radio 91.7 FM from 1 – 2 p.m.
