Central Texas Environmental Policy Events for July 13-19, 2009

Highlights:

TUESDAY: The Planning Commission discusses the Comprehensive Plan Draft Scoping Framework.

TUESDAY: The Urban Transportation Commission hears the draft scope of services of the City’s Strategic Mobility Plan and hears an update on the impending replacement of Downtown parking meters with parking pay stations.

WEDNESDAY: The Austin Energy Generation Resource Planning task force holds its first meeting to discuss organizational issues.

WEDNESDAY: The Urban Forestry Board hears a briefing on the Urban Forest management plan, reviews the proposed Heritage Tree ordinance, and discusses Oak Wilt education and outreach.

At this town hall meeting, City staff will summarize the revisions made to the consultants’ earlier reports and the public will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback. Final recommendations about Downtown density bonuses and affordable housing will be presented to the City Council at a briefing on July 23, 2009, with possible action at a later Council meeting.
