Winter Series Talks – Ramping up as they are Winding down – Don’t miss your chance to attend/learn/share

We’ve had some great talks – Local Food-Farmer/Rancher/Gardener, Local Food-Distribution/Marketing, and Re-Localization or Alternate Finance/Banking/Commerce – lately at the Thursday night Winter Series of Talks at the Habitat Suites Hotel, 7:00-8:30 PM. And, we’ve had some room-filling audiences, great discussions, and happy folks……………There’s only a few more weeks – so if you haven’t attended a Talk yet this year, this week, Thursday, March 11 with:

Gary Freeborg, noted local land/ranch consultant, on "Restoring Soil and Water" – some ideas, some practice, some examples. Permaculture, Sustainability, Passionate Caring for the Land,…all wrapped up in an informative and enjoyable format by a great Austin storyteller.

Then, on Thursday, March 18th, there is no scheduled Talk – it’s Spring Break and we want all to relax and enjoy the time off and the time with children. Have fun.

Then, on Thursday, March 25, it’s Dick Pierce with slides and video and commentary on Eco-Villages, Co-Housing, and other "intentional villages." We’ve talked about re-localization, smaller businesses, and the re-creation of the traditional village (mostly villages within current cities) – this presentation will focus on those new villages – urban, suburban, rural. Some food for thought as we each contemplate what might make a better future for us and our grandchildren.

As always, thanks to Habitat Suites, sessions are from 7:00 – 8:30, plus discussion at 500 E. Highland Mall Blvd, next door to the Sailboat Center.

See you soon, we hope – how about this Thursday?

Dick Pierce
