Want to impact Austin politics for the next 10 years? We’ve got just the volunteer opportunity for you! 

 

Every 10 years, a group of regular Austinites (known as the Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission) redraw our City Council district maps… and they’re currently accepting applications for new members. 

 

Last week, we sat down (virtually of course) with Carmen Llanes Pulido, a current member of the Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission to learn more about what it’s like to serve on the commission and why it’s so important.
