Since Design With Consignment’s (now Curated) opening in 2005, The Gaynors found and recruited several highly talented and experienced Austinites who share their passion for fine furnishings and top-level service

At Curated, we keep the consignment process simple:

We understand the value of finely-crafted furnishings and know what makes them special.

We also know our consignors are busy people—so we make our consignment process as smooth, professional, and hassle-free as possible.

Step 1:

We preview everything to ensure we are the best option to sell your furnishings.

We personally love furniture—lots of different types of furniture. But we discovered long ago that just because we love it doesn’t mean it will sell well from our shop. So we have learned to look every potential consignment over prior to accepting it. Previews take one of three forms:

  • Email your photos to info@curatedtx.com and we will look them over and get back to you ASAP. (Generally the same day) Please be sure to include your contact information.
  • Use our Online Consignment Form from your desktop, smartphone or tablet.
  • Call the shop and schedule an in-person preview appointment. This is particularly helpful if you have a large number of items you need to consign. One of our consignment specialists can meet you and discuss your items with you in person.

Step 2:

Once approved, we put our marketing machine to work, and display your items in our elegant showroom 60 days.

Once we have reached an agreement, we will sign a consignment contract outlining our promise to you, and you may bring your items into the shop at your earliest convenience—using your personal vehicle, your favorite delivery service, or we can recommend services that we know. Unlike other consignment options that you may have known, we maintain a “haggle-free” atmosphere. We honor our contract with you, our consignor. We do not “negotiate” price reductions outside the scheduled markdown period without your approval.

The vast majority of our items sell within the first 21 days. In addition to our local showroom visitors—over 100 a day—we have a robust on line presence and an active social media program, all working together to get your items sold quickly, and for the best possible price.

Step 3:

When your item sells, we split the sales price with you and mail you a check for your share.

We pay higher rates than the national average for consignment payouts. Checks are written on the 15th of the month for the previous month’s sales, and we send them out through U.S. Mail to the address listed on your contract. Or, you can use your consignment earnings immediately to purchase items in our store. Consignors earn a 5% bonus on their consignment payouts when they are used toward additional purchases in our shop. (Sorry – no cash payouts tendered.)
