25 Feb Homesteaders at Sand Holler Farm
Seeking a couple (preferred) or 2 individuals with homestead, gardening, or farm experience/education to live and work on a family owned farmstead in Dale, TX. Sand Holler Farm is a 40 acre farmstead started in 2008 by a couple passionate about living a simple sustainable lifestyle. Wanting to provide a diverse array of foods and products, the farm is home to a small dairy goat herd, a fiber sheep flock, an ever growing number of poultry (chickens, ducks and guineas), an orchard, and a large organic vegetable garden. The garden provides produce for weekly farmers markets, local restaurants/catering facilities, and CSA members. The goats provide fresh milk for consumption and an on-site cheese cottage. This is a very unique opportunity to be fully immersed in multiple aspects of a sustainable modern and innovative farmstead with learning and training opportunities in gardening technology and techniques, animal care and maintenance, farm equipment, commercial kitchen equipment, metalworking and blacksmithing.
