Why go electric?

• Reduce your personal carbon footprint. The average passenger vehicle emits 4.7 tons of carbon dioxide a year. That’s about the same amount of emissions as burning 5,015 pounds of coal. By going electric, you could reduce that number to zero.
• Electric vehicle charging in Austin is extremely inexpensive. The city is home to hundreds of public electric vehicle charging stations. Austin Energy sells unlimited charging access to all of them for only $4.17 a month. 
• The time to act on climate is now. Scientists around the world are ringing alarm bells saying that now is the time to rapidly reduce carbon emissions. They caution that if we wait too much longer, it might be too late. In Austin alone, transportation accounts for about a third of our greenhouse gas emissions.
