Exploring the Opportunities of Humus Compost Workshop

The value of humus in urban agriculture.  Humus is the most limiting ingredient in a sustainable soil.  It holds 4x its weight in water and lasts 12x longer in the soil than simple organic matter.  How can we produce and incorporate humus into our soils in record time and at lower costs.

This is a half day seminar (tentatively from 10 am till 4 pm) for Microbial Earth customers. It is designed to tell the Benefits of Humus Compost in simple terms and through the well documented experiences of Humus Compost users. Please click here for a link to the Midwest Biosystems registration page .

Seating is limited and scholarships are available to waive up to 72% of the registration fee, contact us at info@microbialearth.com for more information. The registration fee is $125 after Feb 21st. Get an extra discount by signing up for "The ACS Humus Workshop" seminar on March 3rd and 4th..  The combined price for all three days is $624 before Feb 22nd, $674 between Feb 22nd and March 1st, and $774 at the door. Questions that we will be answering:

What is the importance of humus in a healthy soil?  Humus is rapidly becoming recognized as the solution to our nutrition, water, soil and air problems.  It is also a potential solution to many of our social dilemmas such as the soaring costs of medical treatments and retirement.

Come listen to how Microbial Earth Farms is producing local solutions for:

  • Drought — increase water holding capacity and water productivity.
  • Nutrition — the role of humus in increasing a plant’s nutrient density.
  • Soil Food Web — how does humus improve the growth and diversity of fungal species as well as benefit the whole of the soil foodweb.
  • Longer life — how to produce longer life compost teas without pH changes.
  • Glyphosphate — how to treat soils receiving Glyphosphate applications.

Topics that will be covered in the Value of Humus in Urban Agriculture are:

  • Introduction to the Aeromaster composting system
  • Benefits and Value of Producing and Using Humus
  • Humus Compost and Soil Microbiology
  • Compost Tea Study and the Use of Extracted Compost Tea
  • Humus Based vs. Conventional Agriculture
  • Humus Benefits.
