About this Event

What does inclusion look like?

Diversity, equity, and inclusion have become popular buzzwords — but what do they actually mean? In this 90-minute workshop, we will discuss the meanings and history of each, how they differ, and how they should fit into your personal and professional goals. You will leave this interactive workshop with a better understanding of not just the language of equity, but how to apply it to be more inclusive in your daily life.

Facilitator bio:

Autumn A. Arnett brings over 15 years of research, advocacy, and professional communications experience to the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion. She is the author of “Let’s Stop Calling it an Achievement Gap,” founder of A Black Child Can, and a frequent speaker and workshop facilitator on DEI in academic, corporate, and nonprofit settings. Autumn is a professional member of the American Consortium for Equity in Education, a member of the Austin Black Leaders Collective, is the Director of Education for Black Pflugerville, and serves on the inaugural City of Pflugerville Equity Commission. She is also a member of a Kettering Foundation committee examining Democracy in a Civil Society, and a member of the advisory board for the American Council on Education’s research on race.
