“The way to right wrongs is to turn the light of truth upon them.” ~ Ida B. Wells
In an era of social media, AI-generated content, and 24-hour news cycles, knowing what to believe — and who to trust — has never been more consequential. With midterm elections on the horizon, join us for an honest, community-rooted conversation about how misinformation and disinformation shape civic participation, and how communities can cut through the noise to make informed, empowered decisions at the ballot box and beyond.
Following the dialogue, we’ll enjoy some powerful words by local Spoken Word Artists that will share their gifts and talents to talk about democracy, belonging, and civic engagement, as we approach an election season.
✨ Voter Registration Available: We’ll have the League of Women Voters of Austin on-site, helping register anyone who needs to before Texas’ October 5th voter registration deadline.
