A performance featuring the Onion Creek watershed and the work of people who steward it.

The Way of Water is a global arts-based project bringing people together around water challenges. In Austin, Forklift is partnering with the Watershed Protection Department and residents of the Onion Creek watershed to present The Way of Water: Onion Creek.

Audience members will begin with an immersive audio walk and then witness a performance on a restored urban floodplain. The dance will feature municipal workers and community members who steward the watershed. Directed by Allison Orr and Krissie Marty. Production Design by Stephen Pruitt. Musical Direction by Graham Reynolds with commissioned composers Vanessa Burden, Orion Garcia and DJGL.

You can RSVP for the show here.

Before You Come to the Show:

Download this app (Apple/Android) and Audio and bring your earbuds

The Way of Water: Onion Creek begins with a 15 minute audio walk. You’ll need to download the Echoes Interactive App onto your Apple or Android phone, to experience the soundtrack.

Cell service is very limited at the performance site, please download before arriving.

STEP 1 of 3. Download the Echoes Interactive App

Download the app at Apple or Android online stores, and open it.

The app will ask for permission to use location data, movement data and bluetooth to work properly. The app is free to use and does not contain ads or sell its user data. Setting up an account is not required.

STEP 2 of 3: Download the 35 MB audio file for The Way of Water

After you open the app, come back to this email and click Spanish or English, to select your language of choice.

Download the audio file by clicking the small blue “35 MB” button to the right of the “Stream Walk” button.

See the Green Check?

Once you’ve downloaded the walk, you’ll see a green check mark and you’re all set!

Please note the audio walk is location-sensitive. You will not be able to hear the audio until you are at the performance site.

Step 3 of 3: Remember to bring your headphones or earbuds

Other listening devices will be available at the show, if you don’t have a phone or prefer not to use it. However, the best listening experience will be on your phone with headphones or earbuds.

If you have any questions or problems with the downloads, please contact:tickets@forkliftdanceworks.org or call 512-222-5287.
