Who We Are:

The Austin Regional Group of the Sierra Club is a volunteer organization of over 5000 members. We’ve been an integral part of the Austin scene since 1968.

Our goal is to ensure that the Austin area remains a healthy, vibrant, place to live. We believe that the health of the human world is inextricably linked to the health of the natural world, and we offer a wide variety of activities and volunteer opportunities to support our goal.

Program:  Barton Springs Conservancy with Michael Cannatti

Formed in 2014 to collaborate with Barton Springs stakeholders, the BSC mission is to honor, preserve and enhance the experience of Barton Springs. Learn about their projects, including the restoration of the historic Zilker Park gateposts, rehabilitation of the historic Barton Springs Pool Bathhouse, and a proposed Visitor Education Center for Zilker Park. Leadership in the organization includes Luci Baines Johnson, former Mayor Will Wynn, and a host of environmental advocates.

Michael Rocco Cannatti, BSC President, is a partner in Terrile, Cannatti, Chambers & Holland, LLP, with active involvement with Barton Springs Pool and neighborhood planning through board service with Friends of Barton Springs Pool (2009 to present); City of Austin Building and Fire Code Board of Appeals (2008-2016); West Austin Neighborhood Group (1999 to present); Leadership Austin Essential Class of 2010; and Central West Austin Combined Neighborhood Plan Contact Planning Team (Chair, 2010 to present).
