Local landscape architect Daniel Woodroffe from DWG Designs will be in the KOOP studio to discuss Green Roofs and the recent project they completed in Austin – 816 Congress Green Roof Transformations. He will be discussing other exciting green designs they are working on.
DWG is a different landscape architecture firm, practicing urban landscape architecture with an exclusive focus on urban design in the Central Business District and adjacent density design corridors.
Founded in 2009 by Daniel Woodroffe, DWG has quickly become the leader within Austin’s design community notable for their modern design, relationships and expertise in the downtown core. Their passion lies in complex multi-faceted projects approached in a collaborative way with expert design teams.
DWG also advocates for parks and open spaces. Recognizing the importance and balance of greenspace within the urban environment, DWG is actively involved with the Austin Parks Foundation, the Downtown Austin Alliance and Waterfront Planning and Advisory Board. The company assists in writing policy and make recommendations on the Lady Bird Lake corridor through the city, to preserve and enhance its vital qualities.
DWG is passionate about design, attention to detail and collaboration. We are leaders in innovative and integrated design of on-structure amenity spaces, designing and permitting in the contested ROW and collaborating with design teams and city staff to successfully implement projects. Our understanding of complex building systems results in expertly detailed terrace designs, thoroughly coordinated with the architectural building team. Our understanding of the urban underground and aerial utility systems allows us to navigate and manage streetscape designs to meet a design vision, while being quickly approved by city review staff. Our relationships with city staff and downtown organizations give us a keen awareness of what it takes to build in Austin, enabling us to integrate common planning objectives into our urban designs.
