“Shades of Green” Environmental Talk Radio on KOOP 91.7 FM (Climate Buddies & Recycled Reads)

This week, we'll highlight Climate Buddies! Led by our guest, Joep Meijer, Climate Buddies is  a local non-profit that empowers people to include climate change considerations into every decision they make. They focus on live interaction with people, for-profits, spiritual groups, the public and academia and are results driven.

We'll also speak with Mindy Reeds of Recycled Reads, the Austin Public Library's Used Bookstore, which is a zero-waste, non-profit with all proceeds benefiting the Austin Public Library. Along with books weeded from the Library’s collection, the bookstore offers books that were donated and overruns direct from the publisher. Nothing ever goes into the landfill. What can’t be sold is responsibly recycled. Since May 2011 the used bookstore has diverted 47 tons from the landfill while raising funds for the Library.
