Who We Are:

Waterloo Greenway is a 1.5-mile park system with the power to bring the entire Austin community together. **To keep everyone safe during this hot summer weather, the event will take place from 10am to 2pm and then again from 6pm to 10pm. You can find a full schedule of events here.**

Rainbow on the Creek is a free, family-friendly celebration that connects, educates, and celebrates Austin’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQIA+) community.

The daylong festival will include activations from Austin-based LGBTQIA+ nonprofits and small businesses on the Love, Tito’s Lawn, with gender affirming care & on-site testing, and performances on the Moody Amphitheater stage. Waterloo Greenway is partnering with Frida Friday ATX, Six Square, The George Washington Carver Museum, Beyond Brotha, Austin Public Library, Dance Waterloo, and aGLIFF’s (All Genders, Lifestyles, and Identities Film Festival) to curate performances and activations that celebrate Austin’s spirit of inclusion, unity, acceptance of diverse LGBTQIA+ cultures, communities of color, and varied genders and sexualities.

Families and children can spend the day in the park exploring a variety of hands-on art and cultural learning activities including drag queen storytime, ‘Taste the Colors of the Rainbow’ with Mom & Pops All Natural Frozen Pops, a dance workshop with Dance Waterloo, Pride Family Portraits, and a Pride Parade in the Park.

The celebration culminates with an evening of electrifying entertainment including performances from DJ Chorizo Funk, RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Roxxxy Andrews, and Latin Grammy nominee Gina Chavez.
