Join Austin Creative Reuse and One Million Stars Texas to learn how to weave a star and start a conversation!
One Million Stars Texas is part of the global star weaving project One Billion Stars (formerly The One Million Stars to End Violence Project). The One Million Stars to End Violence project was created by weaving artist Maryann Talia Pau in Australia (2012). This project is an invitation to the community to come together, to be in conversation and weave stars – these symbols of light, hope, courage and solidarity – for violence free communities.
We are currently facilitating star weaving workshops for One Million Stars Texas. Workshops include a short presentation about the project, star weaving tutorials and opportunities for conversation and community connection. Weave a star. Start a conversation Workshops are intergenerational.

Star Weaving kits can be picked up and woven stars can be dropped off at Austin Creative Reuse. Your woven stars will become part of a star installation at Austin Creative Reuse and will then become part of a larger star installation for One Million Stars Texas project in 2022.
