On July 27, City Council voted to begin the work needed to take Project Connect, Austin’s new mass transit plan, to the ballot in November. This will include a historic $300 Million to address displacement and affordable housing along the transit lines. However, the need for active and critical community engagement is far from over.
PUMA, AJC, and POC are committed to mobility justice and to fostering community participation in the process.

With these goals in mind we will be hosting a town hall this Monday (August 3) to help increase community awareness and participation around Project Connect. We hope to provide information and address ongoing concerns about displacement, equity and justice surround the upcoming transit plans for the city of Austin.
