Just Transition Workshop: What Should The Future Look Like?
July 2 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Are you a person of color between the ages of 15-30?
Join youth leaders, organizers, artists, educators, and community members for a participatory workshop exploring the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of Austin. Together, we’ll share stories, map local environmental and social issues, imagine community-led solutions, and help build a youth vision for a Just Transition in Central Texas and the Gulf South.
Austin is changing rapidly. Rising housing costs, displacement, extreme heat, flooding, environmental pollution, transportation barriers, food insecurity, and unequal access to resources continue to impact many communities, especially Black, Brown, Indigenous, immigrant, and working-class neighborhoods. At the same time, communities across Austin are organizing, creating solutions, and building alternatives rooted in care, resilience, and justice.
Whether you’re concerned about climate change, housing, public health, environmental justice, cultural preservation, transportation, education, or the future of your neighborhood, your voice and lived experience matter.
