Join us on September 22 for the official launch party of Halfsies at Russian House!
We love food. It brings people together; unfortunately, it can also tear people apart. In fact, three problems exist in the world today because of our food choices in America:
1) Waste. Americans waste 40 percent of all food produced. That is enough to feed everyone in Texas.
2) Portion sizes. Most restaurants serve two to four times the recommended serving size. Studies show when we are served larger portions, we eat more.
3) Hunger. One in seven people will go to bed hungry tonight. In America alone, 50 million people have food insecurity or lack proper nutrition.
We can start making different choices today so no one has to go to bed hungry. The Russian House is proud to partner with Halfsies, a social initiative that provides a smaller food portion while turning food waste into charitable giving.
Using the Halfsies menu insert, diners can choose to purchase a half-sized food portion at full price. The restaurant then donates half of the food portion costs to benefit non-profits that offer sustainable solutions to food insecurity.
Please be our guest at the Russian House on Monday, September 22, 2014. Come mingle with the Halfsies team, enjoy half-priced vodka infusions and be the first to go Halfsies – Russian style!
