Formerly known as Solid Waste Services, Austin Resource Recovery provides residential curbside collection of trash, recycling and yard trimmings in the City of Austin. Additional services include sweeping streets, collecting dead animals, operating a drop-off center for household hazardous waste and collecting bulk items and large brush.

Austin Resource Recovery presents Fix-It at Home!, an interactive, online workshop series aimed at teaching Austinites repair and maintenance skills from home. Classes range from learning sewing basics and ‘patching’ up clothes, to fixing recreational equipment and household appliances. Our instructor will teach you basic bike repairs and maintenance techniques, so you can feel more confident on your journey to becoming a sustainable commuter!

Meet the Instructor! John Koonz is a certified instructor with the League of American Bicyclists. He has been car-free for 10 years, and a daily cycling commuter for over 12 years.
