Austin Resource Recovery presenta Fix-It at Home!, una serie de talleres interactivos en línea GRATIS dirigidos a enseñarles a los austinianos técnicas de reparaciones y mantenimiento desde casa. Las clases varían desde aprender los fundamentos de la costura y remendar ropa, hasta cómo arreglar equipo recreativo y enseres del hogar.

Si ya aprendiste las puntadas manuales básicas y estás listo para el próximo nivel, ¡esta clase es para ti! Nuestra instructora te enseñará a reparar ese calcetín agujerado y cómo coser un parche en una prenda. Cada técnica irá seguida de tiempo de práctica para los participantes. Estas técnicas te equiparán con las destrezas necesarias para hacer tus propios remiendos para que puedas reparar tus prendas de ropa favoritas. ¡No necesitas una máquina de coser! Aun si solo tienes un kit pequeño de remiendos como los que dan los hoteles, ¡te invitamos a aprender y practicar!

¡Conoce a la instructora! Pamela Torres es la fundadora y presidenta de Classic Childhood, un negocio de Austin que rescata camisas levemente usadas y las convierte en ropa para bebés y niños pequeños. Pamela tiene varios años de experiencia enseñando costura formalmente y habla español e inglés.

Austin Resource Recovery presents Fix-It at Home!, a FREE interactive, online workshop series aimed at teaching Austinites repair and maintenance skills from home. Classes range from learning sewing basics and ‘patching’ up clothes, to fixing recreational equipment and household appliances.

If you’ve tried your hand at basic stitches, and are ready for the next level, this class is for you! Our instructor will how to repair that hole-y sock and how to stitch on a patch. Each skill will be followed with practice time for the participants. These techniques will equip you with skills for your own mending endeavors, so you can repair your favorite pieces of clothing. No machine required! Even if you only have a mending kit from a hotel, we invite you to learn and practice!

Meet the Instructor! Pamela Torres is the founder and president of Classic Childhood, an Austin business that rescues dress shirts and turns them into baby rompers. Pamela has many years of experience sewing clothes, and speaks both Spanish and English.
