Who We Are:

Formerly known as Solid Waste Services, Austin Resource Recovery provides residential curbside collection of trash, recycling and yard trimmings in the City of Austin. Additional services include sweeping streets, collecting dead animals, operating a drop-off center for household hazardous waste and collecting bulk items and large brush.

    • Austinites, recycle your all-natural Christmas trees, wreaths, and garlands at the 38th Annual Holiday Tree Recycling event at Zilker Park!

    Dates: Dec. 28, Jan. 4 & 5
    Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

    Before you drop off, remember:
    – Only natural trees are accepted for recycling.
    – Remove all ornaments, decorations (including tinsel), lights, and tree stands.
    – Trees sprayed with flocking (artificial snow) are not accepted.
    – Do not place trees in bags.
    – Wreaths and garlands must be removed from wire frames.

    Trees collected will be turned into free mulch, available in January on a first-come, first-served basis.
