Deconstruction Workshop

Trained deconstruction crews can salvage as much as 80 percent of a building’s materials, such as doors, windows, cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, framing lumber, roofing materials, and flooring.
Deconstructing buildings since 1993, The ReUse People have channeled reclaimed building materials back into the marketplace through donations and sales at its network of retail outlets.
This workshop will provide an overview of this burgeoning for industry contractors, architects, municipal employees, building owners and others interested in deconstruction and building materials salvage.
Classroom discussion on Thursday addresses benefits, tools, layout, techniques, material handling, and tax-deductible donations. Mock jobsite visit on Friday will discuss inspection, jobsite layout, salvageable materials, costs, and contracting.
