Who We Are:

We are the oldest grassroots environmental organization in Texas. We believe our open spaces, clean water, and natural resources should be protected so that current and future generations may enjoy them. In addition to our state chapter office in Austin, we are blessed with several regional groups in Texas that provide wonderful opportunities to explore, enjoy, and protect the state’s natural wonders.

The climate crisis demands bold action and strategies. To win in Texas, we must collaborate with frontline communities to reduce pollution and work across the state for a just transition from an oil-based economy to one based on equity and clean energy.

Saturday December 12th, join with Sierra Club, ATXEJ, Texas Campaign for the Environment, Action for a Responsible Railroad Commission, Public Citizen and more climate movement allies for the first of a series of interactive discussions on how to hold our state leaders accountable to the people. Register here → https://bit.ly/txlegetraining

You will learn how to be a more effective citizen lobbyist, how to contact your senators and representatives in covid-safe ways, and have an opportunity to share your ideas and skills with other Texans who want to work for a cleaner and more just state.

Historically, the Texas Legislature has been more of a friend to big polluters and the fossil industry than the working people of Texas concerned about dirty air, high utility bills, safety and climate change. If we’re going to hold the line against the deep pockets of fossil fuel corporations and their lobbyists, we’ll need to continue to build a statewide movement of communities demanding climate and environmental justice.

Join us for the first in a months-long legislative activist training series to support folx in building connections with like-minded Texans around the state and to sharpen our collective focus and effectiveness in the Texas Legislature.

Register for our kickoff workshop on Saturday December 12th here → https://bit.ly/txlegetraining
Can’t make it on the 12th? Register anyways and we’ll keep you posted about the upcoming follow-up workshops running January through March 2021.
This event is free and will take place on zoom.
