Burnet Road Better Block Demonstration

Join the City of Austin Planning Department in celebrating the installation of a new signalized pedestrian crosswalk as well as other temporary and permanent safety and streetscape improvements. This public event will be a fun, free, and family-friendly with interactive games and activities and lots to learn for everyone!
The Burnet Road Better Block demonstration event will be held along Burnet Road and include the closure of the 5300 block of Clay Avenue. This event will implement safety and streetscape improvements including the new pedestrian hybrid beacon across Burnet Rd at Lawnmont Ave. The event will also use temporary street trees and furniture to demonstrate Burnet Road as a safer and more comfortable place to walk. The Burnet Better Block event will feature live music, free ice cream, outdoor seating, and giant games for people of all ages to enjoy.
This event is made possible through collaborations between multiple City of Austin Departments, agencies, local businesses, and neighborhood associations.
