Presented in partnership with Raasin in the Sun and the Mural Arts Institute – Philadelphia
Huston-Tillotson University’s Building Green Justice Forum invites you to a Community Conversation where we will consider the role of the arts in helping us to envision the environmentally just futures we want to bring about.
Environmental justice work is more critical than ever. Activists, scholars, students, community members, and policy makers continue to battle the many challenges of environmental racism even as climate change accelerates and inequality gaps widen. When so much of our focus is directed to addressing injustices, it can be difficult to connect to a motivating vision of justice. Join us as we look to the arts for sources of inspiration, healing, reconciliation, and motivation in imagining an environmentally just world. We will also discuss an EJ mural to be installed on the Huston-Tillotson campus.
We will have a short presentation followed by breakouts incorporating discussion and creative expression. Pizza, drinks and snacks will be served. Free and open to the public!
You can RSVP here.
Location: Dickey-Lawless auditorium on the Huston-Tillotson campus.
Driving/parking directions: Please park in the guest parking lot on Chalmers avenue between 7th and 11 streets and enter campus via the pedestrian gate (this is the West entrance on the map below). The D-L building is on the southwest corner of campus.
