    • There are 17 Texas constitutional amendments on our ballots this November. Join LWVAA as our panelists help us learn about 5 of them.

    Panelists will discuss the consequences of the passage or failure of the following proposed amendments:

    Proposition 4, Creation of a state water fund
    Proposition 12,  Change to the composition of the Commission on Judicial Conduct
    Proposition 14, Establishment of a Dementia Research Institute
    Proposition 15, Parental rights
    Proposition 16, A ban on non-citizens from voting

     

    Panelists include:

    • Scott Stewart, Legislative Affairs Director for the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC)
    • Lisa Hobbs, Civil appellate lawyer and former General Counsel for the Texas Supreme Court
    • Karen Fingerman, Director of the Texas Aging & Longevity Consortium
    • Valerie DeBill, VP of Voters Service for LWVAA and parent
    • Amber Compton, CEO of Sprightly Consulting and parent

    The meeting is open to the public. Space is limited, so registration is strongly recommended. The event will not be recorded.
