Austin Sustainable Swap for Micro-Farmers, Crafters, & generally Skilled Folk

November 21 @ 9:30 pm

The Austin Sustainable Swap is a free community event that encourages all types of sharing: stuff, skills, services, information…

It’s an opportunity to eliminate the still useful things that are no longer useful to you, and donate them for community redistribution. Folks are free to take as they need; what’s left over at the end of the day primarily benefits SafePlace (so think things that would help SafePlace)…

It’s an opportunity to share your talents and skills with the community, through sharing a free class/workshop/demo; if folks walk away with something, you may charge a materials fee or ask for donations…plus, you may bring out examples of craft to trade or sell–the only “fee” is to share knowledge with your community…

It’s a space to folks to connect: for micro-farmers (food growers of any fashion, gardeners) to collaborate, share excess seeds/plants/produce; for community teachers to share introductory classes and new students find them; to share an afternoon outside and perhaps find new friends with whom to collaborate…

Non-profits are welcome to come out and educate us–how do they serve the community, and what can we do to help them support us better?

The Austin Sustainable Swap is collecting iPods for the Music & Memory program (featured in “Alive Inside: A Story of Music and Memory”); we have a collection box at Cherrywood Coffeehouse {where the Swap will be in April and May}, or bring them out to RE:aRT. They will benefit Southwood Care Center.

The Austin Time Exchange Network will be orienting interested folks…want to learn more? Visit https://hourworld.org/bank/?hw=1226

See who will be at the swap this month at www.AustinSustainableSwap.net; contact us through the website if you would like to share a class or workshop, or are interested in participating in general.

This month we are being hosted by Amanda Jones (Austin Time Exchange Network), at the RE:aRT space, behind 2608 Rogers Ave.
