Part I of Urban Co-Lab’s Idea Incubation & Action Workshop Series
Adding Color to Your Green Agenda: Exploring the Role of Diversity in Sustainability
Urban Issue of Focus: Social Inclusion for Impact
From the Dakota Pipeline to Community Parks, Austin has been recently involved in city-wide protests against injustices in the Environmental Justice Community as well as advocating for environmental rights on a local, state and national level. Austin has one of the most organized environmental communities in the United States and plays a key role in public policy issues within the sustainable economy. Urban Co-Lab invites you to join us for an engaging conversation with Austin’s Sierra Club about how to create a more diverse engagement strategy within the environmental and sustainability movement.
Further, Austin’s Sierra Club has made a strong commitment to creating a more diverse organization by targeting millennials to join their organization and creating subsections of their organization such as the Environmental Justice group which features people from diverse backgrounds are invited to join an important cause.
