It’s a big election year here in Austin, with five City Council seats and the mayor’s race on the ballot. In this guide, we’re going to cover the basics of the District 9 City Council election. District 9 is located in downtown/central Austin. You can figure out which Council district you live in here.
District 9 is one of three Council races this year where there is no incumbent running. Council Member Kathie Tovo (who has represented District 9 for the past 12 years) is leaving at the end of 2022.
