08 Apr City of Austin Green Business Leaders Pledge 2011 Unveiled

Chief Sustainability Officer Lucia Athens and the City of Austin crew unveiled the Austin Green Business Leaders Pledge 2011 at the GoGreen '11 Conference. Companies pledge to voluntarily take at least five steps to "go green" within 12 months to save money and resources.

The categories for action include energy, water, waste, water quality, transportation, tracking of historical performance, and employee health. This will help simplify things for a business who wants to "go green" but doesn't have time to track down info from six or more City departments.
