Austin’s Energy Plan Townhall – Sep. 1, 6 pm

For more on Austin power politics, follow PowerSmack.org Austin Energy’s Recommendation for the City’s Resource and Climate Protection Plan to 2020 is now available. Compared to the draft plan released in 2008, there are some good things — more wind & solar & energy efficiency — but the plan is still going to add MORE fossil fuel power plants and KEEPS Austin’s coal plant smokin’ indefinitely.

If you have an opinion on Climate Protection that you want to share with city decision-makers, there will be a Town Hall Meeting, September 1, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:30pm, at Austin Energy, 721 Barton Springs Road, Room 130. You can see the utility’s recommendation & CO2 Plan on www.austinsmartenergy.com under LEARN MORE.
