Action Box
Vote. Vote. Vote.
Care about health care? Affordability and property taxes? Education? These are all things that a state senator influences here in Texas… and now is your chance to help decide who will represent Austin is that big pink dome downtown (aka – the Texas Capitol Building).
Unlike every other race in this July 14th election, this is not a primary. It’s a “special election,” being held to quickly fill a seat that’s empty because our current state senator decided to retire before his term was actually up. This means that when you cast your ballot for our next state senator, you’ll see Republicans, Democrats, Independents, and Libertarians, all on the ballot together. It also means that if you don’t identify as a Democrat or Republican and choose not to vote in any party’s primary runoff, you can still cast a vote in this race.
