[Youth/Nature Activity] Tonight, Thursday, July 10th from 5-8pm is one of most popular Nature Nights – Snakes!
Hear famed University of Texas herpetologist, Travis LaDuc, dispel myths and celebrate snakes. Learn more about Texas snakes at Herps of Texas. The Austin Reptile Service is the main attraction with a diversity of live snakes.
[Birding] The Purple Martins are back, which can only mean one thing – it's time for some bird parties. Each summer thousands of these beautiful birds roost near the Highland Mall before they begin their migration. In celebration of such an amazing event, Travis Audubon will be hosting watch parties in the Highland Mall parking lot on Friday and Saturday nights for the next several weeks. Learn more>>
[Workshop] Saturday, July 12th from 8:30am – 11am TreeFolks is hosting, "Structural Pruning: A Practical Workshop for Homeowners and Professionals." This hands-on class will teach participants how to avoid the structural problems associated with mature trees by properly pruning trees when they are still young. More info >>
[Class] Learn how to sell your backyard eggs to the market on Saturday July 12 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm with the Yard to Market Co-op.
Founded in 2013 by a group of gardeners looking to grow the local food economy, the co-op allows members to sell their own homegrown food to others looking to eat local. This information session will take place at the North Village Branch of the Austin Public Library and will include specifics about how to sell your goods to an Austin farmers market. More info >>
[Information Series] Monday, July 7 from 5:30pm to 9pm is the next Imagine One Austin information series and the topic of discussion will be the economy.
Kevin Johns, the City of Austin's director of economic development, and Gary Farmer, the chair of Opportunity Austin, will be there to speak, along with several other notables in the world of economics. This two hour mini-class (6-8pm) and the optional expo (8-9pm) is free and will be held at the LCRA Dalchau Service Center on Montopolis Drive. More info >>
