28 Mar Austin Faith Community Preach-Off On Climate Change

Another Austin first – the first ever Preach-Off on Climate Change. February 16th saw the first gathering at Congregation Beth Israel to hear clergy and community members share their urgent messages on the need to be stewards of the earth. Nine speakers gave their best three to five minute motivational 'sermon.'

The idea came from the Interfaith Environmental Network of Austin. They wanted to hear the pulpit messages from congregations all over Austin and they addressed climate change as part of the national interfaith weekend. "Why not invite all the clergy to speak at one place where all could participate?" Many of those attending wanted to see a a video so they could share the great sermons.
