In response to recent flooding events in Austin, Mayor Lee Leffingwell has declared a Local State of Disaster. Flood relief help* is still needed in Onion Creek/Dove Springs. Fill out this form if you would like to volunteer your time so that an organizer may contact you when help is needed.
In addition to the local disaster declaration, the City Council will consider approval of an ordinance waiving permitting and development fees for homes damaged during the flooding event.

If you'd like to help flood relief keep our food team organized and plan for daily meals, we are planning a phone conference call MON AFTERNOON. Get in touch for time & details.
This is for people organizing food team, so if you just want to help serve meals you don't need to join.
Saturday, Nov. 23rd Party at Ruth Kaplan's House, 7309 Walkingstick Ln., for the Dove Springs neighborhood.
2pm-4pm. IBEW Local 520 will bring their massive portable BBQ pit and we'll fire up the grill and be cooking lots of food.
You can help:
Organize the event
Make or donate food (esp. Thanksgiving or Holiday favorites), utensils, cups, and servingware.
Donate chair and tables for the day.
Organize the kid's area, volunteer for childcare, or donate toys.
Help serve food, clean up, and share info at the party.
Play music!
ONGOING Organizational Help
We are processing the forms residents have filled out while we serve food, and we'll need some help communicating with residents and keeping track of their needs. Spanish language skills a plus.
ONGOING Food Drivers
We need people to commit to pick up food from donors like Texas French Bread, Sweetish Hill, Wheatsville Co-Op and other sites on different nights of the week. Keep Austin Fed also needs drivers we can send out to food sites and pick up prepared meals.
DONATE
— Servingware, utensils, very large plastic tubs for transporting food around
— Staples, fresh foods, bottled water, etc for our food team to share
— Canned goods with pop tops, snacks and other simple to eat foods. Many of our residents have hot plates but do not have working kitchens.
— Baby supplies, kids stuff, toys in good condition.
— Trash bags, clean up supplies, tools, work gloves for people cleaning up or rebuilding flood damaged homes.
*People are not being allowed into the Dove Springs neighborhood unless they can provide the address of where they are going in order to cut down on strangers who are not actually there to help.
