[Energy Talk] Sunday, November 1st at noon the First Unitarian Universalist Church is hosting another installment of its Public Affairs Forum. The guest speaker will be Reverend Lou Snead, who will be giving a talk entitled, “A Public Utility Goes Green: The Economics of Renewable Energy Options.” He’ll be discussing Georgetown‘s recent decision to switch to 100 percent renewable energy, sharing the story of how economics, expanding renewable energy markets, and community environmental activism all played a part in the making of a green public utility. [Happy Hour] Monday, November 2nd from 6:30pm to 8:30pm the Young Sierrans are having their monthly happy hour at the Waller Creek Boathouse. Young Sierrans is a group of Sierra Club folks between the ages of 21 and 39. They’ll be discussing ideas for future events and chatting about the major environmental issues facing Austin today.
