Sponsored Post – from the Austin Parks Foundation
Do you have a park in your neighborhood that could use some love? Now’s the time for you to do something about it.
The Austin Parks Foundation is currently accepting project proposals for It’s My Park Day. Scheduled for November 4th, It’s My Park Day is the Austin Parks Foundation’s biggest city-wide volunteer event. Each year, thousands of volunteers work to improve parks and greenbelts throughout the city.
If you’d like to make sure your neighborhood park benefits from It’s My Park Day, you can register to become project leader and submit a proposal for a park improvement project.
The most popular types of park projects include:
- Tree mulching and root collar clearing
- Habitat restoration
- Trail maintenance
- Park or creek cleanups
Projects that are selected for It’s My Park Day will be connected with community volunteers to help get the job done. Small grants are also available for the purchase of native seeds, plants, paint, and special tools. Project proposal applications close September 29th. More info>>
