20 Jul Water Catchment … Don’t miss a drop!
The City of Austin is encouraging rainwater harvesting by re-launching its Rainwater Harvesting Rebate Program for water catchment and water conservation in Austin homes and neighborhoods. There are great benefits for people in Central Texas who collect rainwater. The State of Texas also encourages rainwater harvesting with tax-exemptions.
This Thursday at 1 p.m. tune in to Shades of Green Energy Radio on 91.7 FM to hear Roland Ruiz, assistant manager at the Edwards Aquifer Authority who will talk about water and water usage in the Edwards Aquifer. We’ll also have Chris Maxwell-Gains founder of Innovative Water Solutions join us to talk about rainwater harvesting and water conservation.
We utilize the water that flows through the Colorado River, water stored in Lake Travis and water captured in the Edwards Aquifer to supply water needs for Central Texas homes and businesses. But even on our own at our homes we can capture, store and utilize water through rainwater harvesting and catchment systems.
We hope you’ll join us to think about catching water and its benefits to Central Texans this Thursday on Shades of Green Energy Radio on KOOP 91.7 FM.
