Sponsored Post – with Texas Campaign for the Environment
Are you ready to party like it’s 1991? That’s the theme of this year’s Trash Makeover Challenge, presented by Texas Campaign for the Environment. This annual fashion show brings together designers and artists from throughout Texas in a competition to see who can make the ultimate outfit. But here’s the catch – 90 percent of the design must be made of recycled or reused items. In previous years designers have made dresses out of everything from Dorito wrappers to soda tabs.
This year’s contestants must create designs that compliment popular music from 1991 (which is also the year that TCE was founded). Attendees are encouraged to embrace the theme as well, by dressing up in their favorite 90s garb. The Trash Makeover Challenge will be held on Saturday, September 24th from 7pm to 11pm at the Austin Scottish Rite Theater. Tickets are available here>>
